Christina's interview with her mother

C: Christina

M: Christina’s mother

C: Thank you for doing this interview with me. So let’s start the questions. The first question is- why did you want me to go to college?

M: Because going to a college is a good opportunity for you to advance and interact with society. The experiences that you encountered in elementary, middle, and high school are only limited. Going to college will be good for your education, career, and future. Really beneficial. It was a huge hope of mine for you to attend college.

C:What was your biggest concern when I went to college? What were you worried about?

M: Hmmm. Worried about…well, ever since you were in elementary school, you came back home every day after school, but in college, you do everything there yourself. Worried that you wouldn’t be able to adapt to college life or live independently.

C: The third question is-how do you feel about me being in college now? Now that I have been in college for 3 years.

M: In these 3 years, I feel that you have changed a lot and encountered many different people and situations, gained knowledge. Seeing you advance step by step makes me proud and happy. You have a job, volunteer, [focus on] academic work... it seems stable.

C: And the last question is-what are you most proud about what I’ve accomplished so far?

M: Now that you have been in college for 3 years, through this time, you have developed your own thoughts and opinions. You can now make decisions for yourself. You can think about your problems and solve them. Your people skills have improved. Compared to when you were a freshmen, I feel like you have improved a lot.
